Final Reflections

Mady:

This trip encouraged me to help more – travel more, experience other things and learn. It sets a goal for what I can do later in life. I will be more familiar with the world. I don’t want to live just in Canada, I want to live everywhere, meet new people, discover what has not been discovered. This trip has helped me experience new things – not just everyday the same thing. It has prepared me for the future. The trip has brought our family closer together because you have lots of time to learn about each other.

I loved all the distinct dishes from each country as it gives a taste of their country. Even though we never went to India, I have a special connection to Indian food.

The hardest thing was getting up early and you feel sick before you get up. I can’t sleep on a plane. It’s also really hard to be with your family all the time so when we visited people on this trip it was good to get away from your family for a bit.

I want to remember this trip as a learning experience and a gift because if you think about it it is such a gift to travel the world. No one has been to every country – there are still things to explore.

Jade: It’s really great because you get to see things and understand history and it will charge your brain into doing better things by seeing how hard it is in other countries and experience what they are experiencing. And instead of being in your own plain world, you get to experience someone else’s.

The best thing is having experiences as a family instead of staying home and bickering and being boring. The hardest part was when we were traveling, going through immigration, figuring out which bus to go on. Also, I don’t like getting up in the morning, that’s difficult.

I want to be grateful for this trip and not take it for granted. Most people won’t be able to experience this ever in their lifetime. I want to see it as not just traveling the world, but seeing how you can help the world and be with your family and not just being on a tablet or screen, but learning and seeing history.

Thank-you for following our adventures!

Parents Corner: We have now ended our trip. It has been a wonderful experience and we’d like to thank all of the people who responded to the girls’ blog. We would also like to send our appreciation to all of the people we met along the way who enriched our experience!
