Festival Primavera

Jade: These are our dresses for our festival. The Fesival Primavera (which is Festival of Spring).

Mady: After the festival there is a break for the school for Easter. They have two weeks off and we only get a long weekend. (NO FAIR). Easter is called Semana Santa.

Mady: This is the King and Queen of the school. The Queen’s name is Dafne and the King’s name is David. They danced in many dances for the festival. She had to change into many costumes, from Hiphop to Cumbia. We practiced dancing for one month at school.

Jade: Every festival has a King and Queen. This was a Cumbia we did for my class.

Mady: This is a video of my class doing Mambo.

Mady: These are the decorations for the big party. This was a flower I did and we put our picture in the middle. After our dances we lined up and got a big bag of candy.

Mady: After the party ended, we got to go to the feria in Chicxulub and this is the bumper car ride. And there was also a ride with these chairs that we went on that spun around in a circle really fast and went up and down. It was so fun. Afterwards we were so dizzy.

Jade: The feria starts at 6:00 pm every night and goes until late at night leading up to and during Semana Santa. We played a marble game where we had to roll a marble and it has to end up at a certain position and you get a number of points. I got 16 points by rolling marbles on 10 and 6. That meant that anything that was 16 pesos I could pick. I picked a Monster High colouring book.

Jade: We went to the feria with Alejandra from school.

This is another ride at the feria. There were a four trampalines, two up top and two below. In the middle is a rock climbing thing.

I liked going on the twirly ride the best. As it twirled really fast I was screaming.

Jade: We are at our home in Chicxulub and this is the sunset we see every day.

Jade: We are getting ready to leave Mexico and come back home.

Mady: I don’t want to leave Mexico, but were probably going to come back again sometime. I want to go, I just don’t want to go. I have been happy spending 2 months here in Mexico

Jade: My tummy is giving a very excited feeling – exactly the same that I had on the twirly ride. It is a sign of happiness. I’m ready to leave.
